That is one of my favorite maxims from this wisdom classic. It never grows old.

Our objective should be victory not conquest.

He's a Navy SEAL officer. Sun Tzu's Art of War is requirement reading. See the two Richards of the Navy SEALs: https://www.sonshi.com/richard-marcinko-interview.html

The best intelligence allows you to be first. You win!!! Just like in a track meet. The same goes for politics.

I can assure you, Marvin, that all the intelligence in the world will not have me win a track meet. I'm simply too slow. :-)

I am Studying John Boyd's "Patterns of Conflict"--Col Boyd's masterful comprehensive study of warfare as his OODA Loop Cycle--Reacting more innovatively and faster than the enemy, by engendering Unity and cohesion and executing assymetric cycles faster than the enemy can react under conditons of extreme stress, paradox and ambiguity.

"Shape him to see where his strengths and weakness are apparent " Sun Tzu
